of the Beatlemania rave and Beatles prints. That to this day still influences much of today’s music.
When they first started, they were a five-member band with Lennon, McCartney, Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Greatest. Their beginning was filled with playing nightclubs in Gatwick and Hamburg. Then they evolved with recognition. Greatest would leave the Beatles and be replaced by Star as their drummer. But Sutcliffe would remain with them until around 1961. Later they would add Harrison to their mix.
Their manager, John Epstein, has been credited in history as molding them into a professional ensemble. Their creativity was to be further enhanced, by associate producer George Martin. This fantastic duo of management and producer would help them to storm the UK with their sound and songs like “Love Me Do”. They would tour through 1966, treating the world with their one-of-a-kind sound.
In 1966, they would then retreat from touring and spend most of their time recording in the studio. Critics attributed their studio years, with turning out some of their best music. Hits such as: Sgt. Pepper's Lonesome Hearts Membership Band (1967), were widely thought to be works of art, and great Beatles prints. Until, unfortunately for the world, they broke-up in 1970. The members would then go on to experience individual successes. But the world would constantly be exposed to possible rumors of a reunion, which was never to be. Some rumors attribute John’s relationship with Yoko as having been a key factor in the break-up. Regardless of its cause, the world was saddened by the end of Beatlemania.
John Lennon, sadly, was murdered in NYC in 1980 outside his home. Harrison would pass away from cancer in 2001. McCartney and Star, though, would continue on with their individual careers. McCartney would gain much acclaim for his solo-career and continues to be well-known. Find our great selection of Beatles prints.
