Art's Role in Today's World

The word art is a small word for a broad range of topics. There are different forms of art that deserve an appreciation and understanding, including arts of paintings, sculptures, theatre, music and more. Art play’s a significant role in today’s society, and even today’s world. People will travel thousands of miles to get a glimpse of some of the finest arts and galleries because there is an innate appreciate for these artistic displays. Unfortunately, not everyone is privy to the art world and has not developed an appreciation, let alone an understanding of the significance of art.

It seems that society does not focus on promoting the arts or the appreciation of arts. Most young people under thirty have never been to a theatre, art gallery or museum. Unfortunately, many are of the opinion that we do not need art in society today; however, people do not realize how significant art really is in life.

Art allows people to express their feelings in a creative way. Whatever is created through art can also benefit or enrich others. An example of that is through literature. Literature is often fantasy that allows people to become who they always have wanted to become. Literature will satisfy the need for fiction, and literature has turned the world around.

Art is progressive and has evolved over the centuries and is powerful and significant in each era. The art of music transforms people and defines cultures uniquely, and people are deeply affected by the music. The different forms of music and song play a huge role in today’s world. Many musicians, whether modern or mainstream, have used their music to make a change. These artists often succeed in the statements made through their art, and they artists provoke thought, and change through their lyrics.

Art is an amazing tool for engaging with others, and connecting with others, without ever saying a word. The world relies on art more than they realize, and the effectiveness of art is huge. Although it is not appreciated as it once was, society cannot help but feel the influences of the different arts and affects those arts have on their lives.

As time goes on, different forms of arts and expressions will emerge that will ultimately redefine and reshape the culture. Society may not attribute any of that to the arts, however; the arts are greatly responsible for the cultural changes in today’s world.
