After working in quite a number of hospitals, Meyers became something of an amateur photography who experimented in black and white landscape photos; however, he was known to love color printing.

Although he had returned full time to his job as a radiologist, he could not escape his love for photography and during work one day he found himself taking X-ray pictures of everyday objects but unlike other workers who left their X-rays unprinted, he went as far as to print his pictures and that his where he fell in love with what he saw. Being a radiologist and a photographer, Steven N. Meyers prints express his two loves combined and being a professional in both areas, he express that the hardest part of these photo prints are the actual printing of the image.

He explains that X-Ray film does not capture images like camera film does because X-Ray film does not react to paper as well; however, with his printing experience, Steven N. Meyers prints became a reality and he began by making flower images because they are very simple and very popular and this became his signature image.

The first sale of the Steven N. Meyers prints was sold by a street vendor and the use of X-Ray instead of real light gives an impression and an image that could not be acquired otherwise. Steven N. Meyers prints is a combination of positives, negatives, and solarised prints (solarised being a combination of both positive and negatives).
