 Romare Bearden is an Americal artist cum writer who was born in Charlotte in North Carolina on 2nd September 1911. Bearden completed his graduation from NYU College, New York in the year 1935. As soon as finished his graduation, he pursued his career in the field of art and drawing for the South American. He had mastered the art of communicating with people through the emotions portrayed in the drawing. He explored a different direction of his talented after working in the US Army in the European front from where he came back to Paris in the year 1950. He then studied art and philosophy at the Sorbonne for becoming an expert.

Initially his work mostly focussed on the unity and cooperation of the African American community but later on deviated into abstract drawing. Concentrating on a variety of themes for collage work made him extremely popular and then he also became the founder of an art group known as the “The Spiral’.
