Didier Lourenco Prints - Artist Biography

Spanish artist Didier Lourenco was born in 1968 in Barcelona. He began to develop his talent in lithography while working in his father's print studio after high school. He quickly went on to paint on both paper and canvas--and within a year, he had his first solo exhibition.
At that time he also printed his first lithographic edition and was a full-time artist at the age of 20. He continued hosting his studio in his father's office for seven years following this early success, largely because he enjoyed the interchange of ideas with the many artists who visited while working on projects. Some of his works like Descanso and Tres Barcas seem stark and nearly colorless upon first view, but a longer look will reveal subtle interplays of light and shadow that reward the effort.
