Alfred Sisley - Artist Biography
Alfred Sisley lived from 1839-1899 and is one of the founders of French Impressionism. A one-time close friend and artistic compatriot of Renoir and Monet, he ultimately sympathized most with the budding Impressionist movement. He aligned himself with Camille Pissaro and began creating his signature landscapes soon after meeting Pissaro.
You'll see a great deal of sky in the paintings of Alfred Sisley, as well as many canvases featuring snow. The scenery around Paris was his constant inspiration, and his depictions are always lyrical and warm, alive with color and light. His landscapes are truly delightful, and are a part of many well-respected collections, both public and private.

Many of our customers want their prints to look as much like the originals as possible. In these cases, we recommend canvas transfer prints. In this process, the image is inked onto a real artist's canvas, creating a finished product with the texture and look of a piece you would find in a museum.
