Limited Edition Prints

An image printed in a specified restricted quantity. Limited edition prints
are created using the finest quality archival inks and paper, thus
ensuring that the limited edition print will last many years.

Artist Proofs
|

|
|
A run of numbered prints, not included in a run of limited edition prints. Artist
proofs are created for the artist, and usually consist of 10% of a total run
of limited edition prints. Since these items are more rare, they typically are valued
higher than limited edition prints.

Giclee
|
|
|
|
|
(pronounced gee-clay): French for "sprayed ink." A sophisticated
printmaking process, today typically produced on an IRIS ink-jet
printer, capable of producing millions of colors using continuous-tone
technology. Also a print resulting from this process, also called an
Iris print. Giclees are often made from photographic images of
paintings in order to produce high quality, permanent reproductions of them. Some limited edition prints available.
