Ted Blaylock - Artist Biography
In 1965, Ted Blaylock left a lucrative job as a construction steam fitter to pursue a full-time career in art, a dream he had envisioned since the age of six.
Blayock, his wife Norma, and their children, traveled throughout the West with his artist brother and family. They sold their art at ski resorts, shopping malls, and even along roadside fences, "wherever we found a market for our paintings," he said.
Believing that variety prevents boredom, Blaylock tries to remain versatile with his subject matter. However, most of his ideas come form his frequent trips into the Arizona hills and canyons. "I go into the mountains whenever I can," he said.
