Best Movies of 2004
Big Fish
Tim Burton does not disappoint with this movie. It is about a father who spins tall tales to entertain his child, and his tales come to life on the big screen. Very entertaining, Ewan McGregor and Albert Finney are terrific in this wonderful film for most of the family, PG-13.
The Butterfly Effect
I can see why the critics didn't like it, I don't think this is a critic type of movie. But I loved it and thought Ashton Kutcher did a great acting job. Before this all I saw him in was "That 70's Show", so to see him perform well in a movie was almost a surprise.
Kill Bill: Volume 2
I love Quentin Tarantino movies, love them, but I did not love Kill Bill Vol. 1, I thought it was OK. It was too much fighting and not enough story. So when I saw Vol 2 I was expecting more of the same but walked away with that love I missed in the first one. Great story, dialog and just enough fighting.
Super Size Me
I think I rented this because I could not find anything else. Glad it happened, what a great documentary on the terrible state that is America's favorite food - fast food.
Napoleon Dynamite
Here is one of those movies that is so unlike any other movie ever made, it will go down in history as a classic comedy. So weirdly funny.
Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man 2 actually gave the first Spider-Man some competition as being the better movie. So many great dialog and mood moments. What happened to Spider-Man 3? - You won't see it on one of my lists.
The Aviator
Like I've said before, I love Martin Scorsese, when him and Leonardo DiCaprio team up it's pure movie magic.
