Nursery Decorating on a Budget
Having a baby is a very rewarding, and expensive adventure. Here are some ways to start out saving.
Consignment Shops - Consignment stores are one of the best ways to get discounted baby items for the nursery. Most of the time you can find cribs, mobiles, changing tables and dressers for half off.
Bedding on eBay - eBay has some great finds on crib bedding. So many people put their expensive bedding and crib bumpers on eBay, you can get some super discounts.
Wall Hanging - A great way to decorate a large wall is with a family quilt or comforter that has great colors and designs. Also once your baby has outgrown the crib, hang the crib blanket on the wall.
Decorative Painting - Instead of expensive wall coverings for the entire nursery, have a painting party with your friends and family and have them draw designs and animals all over the walls of the nursery, you'll be surprised at how amazing it turns out.
Chalkboard Paint - Once your baby grows up enough to draw their masterpiece use chalkboard paint to paint a section of the wall. It gives them a place to express their creative side while saving the rest of the walls from graffiti.
Wall Stencils - Another great way to fill the walls with designs for cheap is to use stencils. You don't need any artistic skills to make truly great shapes on the walls with stencils.
In-Wall Shelving - Buying shelves that install right on the wall can be very inexpensive. Once up you have many points around the room where knick knacks and pictures can be placed.
